DESCRIPTION:This one-day workshop will cover some of the communication challenges faced by physiotherapists such as, working with resistance and supporting adherence. Participants on this course will gain a deeper understanding of what is meant by personalised care and how this can support behaviour change.\nWe will touch on some of the basic skills of coaching and what it means to develop a coaching approach within your practice, with the opportunity to learn and practise some evidence based communication models shown to support adherence and health literacy. Our course will help participants to increase their confidence in having deeper, more impactful conversations with patients.\nLearning outcomes include:\n\nGain a basic understanding of some of the factors influencing behaviour change\nDeepen your understanding of what is meant by personalised care and how to deliver it more effectively\nAn introduction to some of the key elements of a coaching approach\nAn introduction to some basic models that support adherence and better understanding, that can be applied immediately into your practice\nSupport patients to be more involved in conversations about their care\n\nThis 1-day workshop is ideal for physiotherapists at any stage of their career, looking to develop their communication skills to support better outcomes with patients.\n
