Our Motivation & Philosophy for Apprenticeship Delivery

When we founded TPC Health, we knew we wanted to build more than just a company – we wanted to create an organisation that truly aligns with the values of the health and social care sector. Our work is about people – their experiences, their challenges, and their potential to grow, lead, and make a difference.

Closing a National Gap
TPC Health was invited onto the apprenticeship register to fill a critical gap – the need for coaching training rooted in the context of health and care. Other providers struggled to meet this need because their approaches lacked relevance to public-facing roles and the ethical, cultural, and relational complexity those roles demand. We were chosen for our unique ability to align coaching principles with the specific challenges of the health and care sector.

Our apprenticeship programmes are more than qualifications – they are structured journeys of growth, enabling participants to transition from task-oriented delivery to person-centred, values-led practice that supports self-management and long-term wellbeing.

With over two decades of hands-on experience working in and alongside health, care and voluntary organisations, we understand the day-to-day reality of delivering care and support under pressure. Our team includes clinicians, coaches, and educators who bring sector insight to life – shaping learning that reflects the nuance of real roles, from frontline practitioners to system leaders.

We don’t simply deliver courses – we work in partnership with organisations to ensure that the apprenticeship experience aligns with workforce strategies, supervision frameworks, and service goals. Learning That Sticks
Our programmes blend theoretical foundations with experiential learning, coaching supervision, and reflective practice. Core components like our PCI-accredited 4-day Health Coaching award ensure that participants not only understand coaching but can apply it confidently and effectively in practice. We support development through peer learning, observed sessions, and practical integration into everyday roles.

Measured, Long-Term Impact
We are outcomes-focused and evidence-informed. Our apprenticeships support improvements in staff engagement, patient and community outcomes, and service innovation. Through structured review, evaluation, and supervisor engagement, we ensure long-term impact is visible and embedded.

Going Beyond Training
We don’t just deliver content – we support people to develop as practitioners over time. Through regular supervision, one-to-one support, reflective practice, and mentorship, we help learners mature into their roles with purpose and clarity. We know that development isn’t linear – it’s relational, iterative, and human – and our programmes are designed to nurture growth.

We build more than skill – we cultivate insight and identity. Our programmes help learners understand their purpose, how they show up in their work, and how to build trust-based relationships with those they support. They develop the confidence to work with autonomy and accountability, and the emotional intelligence to hold complexity, manage risk, and act with care.

This creates the conditions for mindset shift. Apprentices move from task-focused to values-driven; from passive to proactive; from delivering care to being of service. They promote dignity, build trust, support self-management, and enhance equity and inclusion.
