Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised training course aimed at teaching people how to identify signs of mental ill health and offer initial assistance. MHFA plays a crucial role in creating a supportive environment where people can openly discuss mental health and receive the necessary help.
Like physical first aid, MHFA equips individuals to recognise warning signs of mental ill health and effectively support others in finding appropriate help. Implementing MHFA training within organisations and communities promotes open conversations about mental health, reducing stigma and fostering a positive culture.
Our programme aims to support individuals to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence in aiding and guiding others towards the right support for mental health issues.
“Great course with lots of interaction from presenters and participants, Lots of content for further research and knowledge building.”
“It really enhanced the experience being able to meet people in different roles and professions, I think it helped broaden the learning and see how it can be applied.”
“The trainers are highly experienced, professional and supportive, the training materials are really well laid out and of excellent quality and the support by the admin team is of the highest standard. Highly recommended.”
Give your practitioners the necessary skills, tools and confidence to have conversations about mental health.
For leaders, managers or practitioners who want to better understand mental health issues and how to provide initial support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. While anyone can benefit from MHFA training, it is particularly beneficial for individuals who work in roles where they regularly interact with others and may encounter mental health challenges.
Participants learn how to recognise, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges and crises. The course is designed to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to provide initial support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue, and to guide them towards appropriate professional help.
Our one day workshop will include:
This session will create participants an opportunity to gain an appreciation of the mental health challenges that you and your colleagues and clients may be experiencing, as well as identifying some specific strategies that a MHFA can put in place to support positive mental health.
The programme is delivered over a day long workshop giving time to allow participants to develop knowledge of the core concepts of mental health and, reflect on their own experiences, and practice their developing skills.
This is an interactive programme with an emphasis on skills practice and development. The programme will be delivered using a highly participative and experiential learning process supported by expert input. We will create many opportunities to practice skills and challenge participants to identify how they can apply their learning to their own work place settings.
The delivery teams at TPC Healthare highly qualified, and clinically experienced having worked and practiced in mental health services and the wider health and care system.
