With over 20 years experience of mentoring training within the health and care sector, TPC Health provide some of the UK’s leading mentor training programmes that can be adapted to suit your organisational requirements and goals.
Mentoring is increasingly being used in the health and care context to share experience, develop understanding and transfer skills. In the high-pressure health and care context, mentoring programmes are one of the most valuable and effective development opportunities that organisations can offer. Mentoring programmes are relatively low cost, high value interventions that provide both mentors and mentees with a wide range of personal and professional benefits.
Our team of experienced coaches and mentors provide a range of coaching and mentoring services that support staff in the Health & Social Care sector in the day-to-day challenges they have as leaders, clinicians or support workers. Our Mentoring programmes are an effective way to keep senior leaders engaged, while they support the development of future leaders who are learning about what it takes to succeed within the organisation.
Our custom-designed mentoring programmes are developed for individuals and organisations committed to career growth, diversity, and leadership development, our programmes help unlock opportunities, build networks, and drive meaningful professional advancement. Below are just a few examples of programmes that we have developed and run for organisations.
Our expert training will equip participants with the skills and techniques needed to form positive mentoring relationships, develop the ability and confidence to challenge and question mentees and get the most out of every mentoring conversation. TPC Health has a proven track record of developing successful training and interventions to support mentoring in a practical and sustainable way.
Our programmes are highly interactive with an emphasis on skill practice and development. Mentors leave our training programmes with the confidence and skills required to support and encourage their mentees, positively and effectively.
We offer 2 day and 4 day EMCC Accredited training programmes but can also tailor our programmes to suit your requirements and our delivery can be flexible to fit in with your schedules. Please contact us for further details.
Organisations throughout the UK have used our mentoring skills programmes to achieve multiple objectives:
1. Develop the talent pipeline
2. Support inclusion initiatives
3. Encourage an innovation culture
4. Source insight and understanding from differing experiences
5. Pass on specialised knowledge
Sponsorship mentoring is a reciprocal relationship in which a Sponsor, who will be a person in a more senior role and in a position of influence can guide and positively impact their mentee’s progression. This may be by giving support, advice and feedback, and also by creating opportunities not necessarily accessible through usual routes such as connecting them with other senior leaders within their organisation.
Our approach goes beyond traditional mentoring, instead pairing high-potential individuals with senior leaders who actively advocate for their success and facilitate opportunities o drive career growth, enhance leadership potential.
We provide tailored sponsorship mentoring programs designed to meet the specific needs of your organisation. Our offer includes programme design, training, workshops and ongoing support and evaluation. Please contact us for further details.
Individuals have been shown to become more proactive in the following:
1. Career Conversations
2. Managing own performance
3. Career conversations
4. Managing own performance
5. Building a network of advocates
6. Facing into challenges and accepting responsibility
7. Unlocking pathways to career enhancing opportunities
The aim of our Reverse Mentoring Programme is to equip the “mentors” (less experienced members of staff) with a skillset that supports them to share their knowledge and experience with their “mentees” (senior members of staff), while also supporting mentees to understand how to be effective in their role as a mentee. This approach allows both mentors and mentees to gain the most positive experience from the programme.
The core principles that enable a successful intervention are based around supporting senior staff to:
Supporting less experienced staff to:
There is a growing interest in Reciprocal Mentoring, which is based on reverse mentoring but where each party to the relationship mentor each other, to create an equal partnership and support systemic change. Reciprocal Mentoring can be a powerful enabler that supports equalising the “balance of power” and breaking down barriers thus challenging the traditional often hierarchical culture that often exists in organisations.
Our Programmes are structured over six stages which we believe are essential to truly gain the full benefit of the programme:
We have an extensive track record of conducting successful training and development interventions to support mentoring and on the topics of unconscious bias and inclusive leadership with both private and public sector organisations, and will bring that experience to your project. •To develop the talent pipeline
•To source insight and understanding about the experience of others (frontline workers, specific services through reverse mentoring)
•To support inclusion (e.g., BAME, women, disability)

“I feel like I am a more confident person that, has taken the knowledge learnt and expanded on it and explored it in a way that has broadened my horizon. I think that without the course I may well have left my role, motivation was low. But the course has helped me to put a positive spin on those areas and say actually what can I do to achieve this”
“The time out to reflect was really useful.and the rapport built will help when the roles are reversed. It is always good to be reminded about how it felt and what was important earlier in your career as you can forget this when in the cut and thrust of your day to day role”
“Supported me to expanded my professional network, helped create innovative ideas. Provided a sense of perspective on team and work. Learnt from others sharing stories at the end – all the different lived experiences and personal challenges in some cases that had been overcome”
