Core Supervision Skills – 2026
The programme comprises four 1 day workshops and four half day skills development sessions, delivered over a period of approximately four months, to allow participants to practice their developing skills. Prior to the workshops, participants are onboarded through a reflective process, onboarding webinar and briefing pack that supports them to prepare appropriately and gain maximum value from the sessions.
This is an interactive programme with an emphasis on skill practice and development. The programme will be delivered using a highly participative and experiential learning process supported by expert input by accredited coaching supervisors. We will create many opportunities to practice individual and group supervision skills throughout the programme, and skills development sessions will be structured specifically to practice, deepen and mature participant’s skills in the delivery of individual and group supervision. During and between workshops we will emphasise on-going practice, reflection and planning as reflexive practitioners.
We follow-up the programme with a series of e-learning provocations that comprise brief inputs and memory aids to support participants in the application of learning. There will also be opportunities to join action learning sets and webinars. Participants will be encouraged to join one of our Post-programme Action Learning Supervision Sets to support the further maturation of their supervision skills.
Our Core Supervision Skills programme has been accredited by the PCI. In order to qualify for accreditation, participants will need to complete a Portfolio of Learning evidencing 10 hours of 1:1 supervision practice and 10 hours of group supervision practice (20 hours in total). This will support participants to reflect on their learning and understand their strengths and areas for development, and ensure they have a record of their training, practice and development.
Participants will also need to achieve a required level of skill as assessed by an accredited coaching supervisor. While this will be informed by practice observations during the programme, each participant will also receive a portfolio review and supervision skills assessment session when they feel they are ready to be certified. Note this assessment is also a requirement for progression to our Senior Supervisor Programme, and qualify for the EMCC Accredited ESQA Supervision Skills Development Programme.
All participants in this programme should be accessing regular supervision themselves. If this is not available to them in their region, TPC Health can provide individual or group supervision delivered by one of our accredited coaching supervisors.
