Using Coaching as Part of Your Role

Supporting health and care practitioners develop the skills, abilities and mindsets that assist personalised care, behaviour change and encourage care management.

Transform your organisation’s approach to care with coaching skills designed to enhance communication, improve patient outcomes, and develop professional growth.

Our Health Coaching training programmes can support your health and care teams to integrate a health coaching approach into their practice to improve patient outcomes, enhance self-management of chronic conditions, and promote healthier behaviours. This approach focuses on helping individuals take ownership of their health and make sustainable changes.

Our training programmes are designed for practitioners who want to apply the principles and techniques of health coaching within another professional role – such as a GP, nurse, physiotherapist, or pharmacist without necessarily being a trained health coach. In this context, the health professional uses health coaching methods, like core coaching frameworks and competencies, behaviour change theory, and goal-setting, to engage and empower patients or clients.

As the healthcare system increasingly prioritises preventive care and patient empowerment, health coaching is becoming an increasingly valuable tool in supporting sustainable health behaviours.

Who are the facilitators at TPC Health?

Our health and wellbeing facilitators have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the healthcare sector and are practising health and wellbeing coaches. They all hold senior coaching and supervision accreditations with recognised bodies such as the EMCC, ILM and ICF as well as specific health coaching accreditations.

Having extensive experience of work in and with the health and care system our facilitators understand the psychological and practical challenges associated with working with people to enhance personalised care and enable behavioural change.

How does TPC Health offer practical experience and follow up support?

All our programmes are interactive and take a hands-on format using experiential learning and skills practice to prepare participants to transfer their knowledge into practice and take action.

During each programme participants will have regular opportunities for practicing their skills with their peers during breakout sessions. To support embedding of learning we provide a post-programme call, regular learning e-shots, and access to our free monthly coaching CPD webinars.

What is TPC Health’s approach to evidence-based practice?

All our programmes are developed from evidence-based approaches, incorporating the latest research on behaviour change, psychology, and self-management.

This ensures the training and services you will receive are anchored in empirical and theoretical knowledge and ensures that you stand apart from those using unproven approaches. In addition, we support the EMCC core competencies and believe that coaching development should be grounded in this knowledge.

Healthy Boundaries & How To Set Them

Healthy boundaries are important to have in place in many areas of our lives. Working in healthcare requires us to manage a number of boundaries which serve to: maintain a level of professionalism, ensure we are effective within our role, and protect both practitioner and patient.
